i wonder how the culpirt feels when conan/mouri/other detectives retells the process of the murder when they are currently pretending to be not the murderer HAHAHAHA

Conan/Shinichi sometimes forget important memories lol. He forgot his future mother-in-law's name and face😭, and he forgot some weird family he met in a vacation, tho I won't blame him for not remembering. He remembers them when something reminds him of them

no, he didn't forget her name in the bathroom stall of the diner case... he forgot exactly what she looks like. don't forget, Kisaki Eri moved out of 'Mouri Castle' around a DECADE ago when ShinRan were seven years old. so Shin not meeting up with his mother-in-law regularly for around ten years is a pretty good reason to only vaguely remember her face.

FYI: the manga chapters that this episode and the previous one were based on weren't enough for a two-part episode, some scenes had to be longer or more dialogue had to be added.

yet another important lesson from the Conan anime... don't engage in power harassment with your employees! one of them may kill you! :D

also, obese grumpy lady... it is called an EPIPEN you moron! she should have gone to an allergist and found out if her dog allergy is so bad... because she passed out!? also! when she went to the emergency room in the ambulance... they would have TESTED HER ALLERGIC REACTIONS!? duhhhh! that's basic medical diagnostics! big giant gaping plot-hole wide enough to drift a Greyhound bus through!

additionally... huge! catastrophically impossible! COINCIDENCE! obese grumpy lady shows up to the exact same department store, the exact same clothing shop, the exact same day the murder happens... a WEEK after obese grumpy lady passed out... in that same store!? in the changing room?

another plot hole? if obese grumpy lady is allergic to dogs... why isn't she sneezing, watery eyes, itchy rashes, hives, or SOME form of reaction to the dead lady... if the lady is STILL covered in dog hair!?!

this pair of episodes is seriously sloppily written. the only redeeming parts were... the fanservice... and Shinichi digging some old memories up outta that giant genius brain of his. and figuring out some new things.

also, i'm American... yeah i've traveled the world but not a whole bunch of it. sometimes i count to five with my index, then middle, then ring, then pinky then thumb... all the while leaving my thumb folded into my palm till last. then other times i start with a fist, then stick out my thumb, index, middle etc. if i use my right hand i HAVE to do it the index is 1 way, because i've got what's called a boxer's fracture improperly set and healed in the bones of my hand behind my ring and pinky fingers. my ring and pinky fingers don't operate properly because of how my hand healed. i can make a fist, grip stuff, but when it comes to independent movement of my ring and pinky fingers... they don't work like my left hand does.

shrug. that 'way people count' idea is specious at best.

When there is important plot info, the actual case kinda suffers. It was the same for an episode awhile back, I think I even commented on it. I can see why there needed to be all those coincidences, though - because it kept the "whodunit" more mysterious.

As for how Americans count, I think he was going off of how the majority of Americans count. I'm an American too, and I count like Conan said, but my significant other counts differently.

i've found that most of us in the US do it index to pinky fpr 1-4 and then thumb for 5. but i've got a few EU friends who like anime that have mentioned the 'French' version of counting isn't even CLOSE to Continental-wide either. :D i was deployed to Kuwait, Iraq, and Jordan and i cannot for the life of me remember how they count on their fingers though. but that was 20 years ago. :D
